Genesis 1:26-27 says Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
If God made us in the likeness and image of him, why do we see differently? Why do we doubt the word of God and choose to believe the lies of Satan? Are we allowing our flesh to be driven by what we see or think through our minds? Are we allowing our past experiences to drown out the word of God which is truth and be blind to it? When truth is rejected, we give permission to unbelief and lack of love to blind us; and posture our flesh to walk in low self-esteem, doubt and bondage. However, when we begin to allow the word of God to penetrate our very being, it is then, we can see the essence of his beauty in which he created us and his great love for us. It is then, we can see and speak: Psalms 139:14 over ourselves, declaring “I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelously are your works and that my soul knows very well.” Daily we must die to our flesh, read the word, know the word and believe the word of God. How do you choose to see, through the eyes of God or through the eyes of flesh?
